Frequently Asked Questions

Starting therapy often brings a mix of hope and uncertainty, and the intake process is designed to move at a pace that feels manageable.
We typically begin with an initial conversation about what's bringing you in, what you're looking for, and whether we seem like the right fit. The first several sessions are focused on getting to know you: your history, your relationships, and what's going on in your life right now.
You don't need to share everything right away. Trust builds over time, and the process is shaped around that.

I am an out-of-network provider and do not bill insurance directly.
Many clients submit sessions to their insurance for possible out-of-network reimbursement, and I'm happy to provide a monthly superbill on request. I'd recommend contacting your insurance provider directly to understand your specific benefits. Any questions about fees can be part of our initial conversation.

Your session time is held for you, so I ask for at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Sessions canceled with less than 24 hours' notice are charged in full, since that time is difficult to offer to someone else.

Virtual sessions are held over secure video, so you can meet with me from wherever is comfortable and private. Telehealth sessions follow the same format as in-person ones. You'll receive simple setup instructions beforehand, and all you'll need is a reliable connection and a quiet space to talk.
